Do you serve Afternoon Tea?

Afternoon Tea is served daily from 3:00 – 5:00pm in Swan’s Café, located in the Grand Lobby of The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers.

 

What is a Tea Sommelier?

A Tea Sommelier is an expert in the field of tea and can assist customers in selecting the appropriate teas to drink with each course. The hotel's Tea Sommelier, Cynthia Gold, uses her extensive knowledge regarding tea to create her own exclusive tea blends that are unique to the Park Plaza. In addition Cynthia uses her tea as an ingredient in innovative cocktails and recipes.

How many guestrooms do you have?

The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers has 941 guestrooms & suites.

 

What is a “Servidor”?

An original feature of the hotel, the "servidor" is a panel in each guestroom door which allowed the valet to deliver laundry without disturbing the guest.

 

 

Do you have a Presidential Suite?

Located on the exclusive Towers Level Concierge Floor of The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers, the Presidential Suite is a luxurious three bedroom, five bathroom suite widely considered to be the most elegant and lavish suite in the entire Northeast.  The 1,568.3 sq ft. suite is ideal for entertaining and includes a living room, private office and kitchen. The suite features a 60 inch wide flat screen television in the living room and a 42 inch wide flat screen television in each bedroom.  The kitchen is supplied with a complimentary refrigerator stocked with bottled water, assorted juices & sodas and beer.  The suite also contains marble bathrooms, leather furniture, a grand piano and a surround sound stereo system. 

 

Do you have a club lounge?

Our club lounge is located on the Towers Level Concierge Floor of the hotel. Towers guests are granted exclusive access to the Towers Level Lounge.

 

What is the Towers Level?

The Towers Level Concierge Floor is located on the 15th floor of The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers and is available exclusively to our executive guests. The Towers Level Concierge Floor features 78 recently refurbished guestrooms that can only be accessed by Towers guests with their guestroom keycard via the Towers Level Express Elevator. Towers Level guests are greeted by their own personal Towers Level Concierge that is on-site seven days a week to offer elite service. Towers Level guestrooms feature state-of-the-art individual climate control systems, data ports with complimentary high speed Internet access, voicemail, interactive video-on-demand, windows that open, marble bathrooms with dual “power head showers,” bath amenities and custom Park Plaza bathrobes and slippers.

What was the hotel like when it first opened?  

• With its original 1,300 guestrooms, The Statler Hotel was the largest independent hotel in all of New England for five decades and the eighth largest

   hotel in the World.

• The Statler Hotel was the first hotel in the nation to outfit every guestroom with radios.

• Hotel rates ranged from $3.50 to $5.00, single occupancy.

• The largest barber shop in New England was housed in the hotel’s lower level lobby.

• A house physician had an office and hospital on the 14th floor of the hotel. At regular hours employees could consult with him; emergency cases

  were handled at all hours.  

 

What is the significance of the SWAN Logo?

The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers’ logo was inspired by the Public Garden Swan Boats, located across the street.

The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers has over 65,000 square feet of flexible function space, including three ballrooms, 39 meeting rooms, and The Park Plaza Castle.

 

What is The Castle?

Built in 1891, The Park Plaza Castle was an armory for the First Corps of the Cadets. Today, The Castle offers multifaceted event space unlike any other in Boston. Exhibitions, trade shows or receptions can take place in this National Historic Landmark, located right across from The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers

 

 

Renovations

 

When was your last renovation, how much, what did it entail?

The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers has completed over $5 million in renovations over the past three years.  Guestroom renovations to our 941 rooms totaled $4 million and $1 million went to upgrading the hotel's Grand Lobby and public areas.

 

2008 Guestroom Renovations included: New Simmons Beautyrest Mattresses and bedding, new replacement carpeting, new custom wood headboards and 10 additional ADA guestrooms were added to our inventory. New ADA rooms offer wheel chair accessibility, roll in showers and accessible furniture, bringing our current total of ADA accessible guestrooms to 46.
