Most notably is the left field wall nicknamed The Green Monster. Although the wood wall was part of the original construction, it was covered in tin and concrete in 1934 when the scoreboard was added and was painted green in 1947, which covered all the previous advertisements. In fact, advertisements did not appear on the wall again until 1999 when the All-Star Game was being promoted.

In 1976, the wall was covered again, this time in hard plastic. In 2003, the Red Sox ownership constructed a seating section atop the Green Monster to accommodate 274 fans. These seats became wildly popular as “Monster seats” and the team added a similar section in 2005, dubbed the “Nation’s Nest,” located between the main seating section and the center field scoreboard.

The Green Monster measures 37.167 feet and is famous for preventing home runs on many line drives that would clear the walls of other ballparks.

The Lone Red Seat is another noteworthy feature of the stadium. Set amidst row after row of green bleachers, the lone red seat stands out in section 42, row 37, seat 21 and signifies the longest home run ever hit at Fenway Park. The famous hit was sent by Ted Williams in 1946 and was officially measured at 502 feet.

Tours are available every hour on the hour between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily and are $16.00 per adult or $12.00 for children ages 3 – 15, students and military.
