Wondering What to do in Boston with children? This Boston Museum is a perfect choice during your next stay at our Boston Hotel.
About Boston Children’s Museum:
In 1913, a group of teachers had an idea to create a Boston Museum that would encourage learning while also providing a fun environment for children. The Boston Children’s Museum is one of the oldest such Museums in the country, and it welcomes thousands of visitors each month.
The exhibits at this Boston Museum encourage hands-on learning. The children come to play – and play they do – but all the while lessons about nature, science and more are being imparted. This Attraction is a particularly good answer to What to do in Boston on a rainy or cold day. Most of the exhibits are indoors, so the kids can burn off some energy before heading back to our Boston Hotel.
Most children’s Museums in the country do not keep a collection, but the Boston Children’s Museum does. The Museum is home to more than 50,000 objects across several categories including natural history, global culture, Dolls, doll houses, Japanese artifacts and much more.
Most of the exhibits at this Boston Museum, which celebrated its 100th anniversary last year, are hands-on. Unlike some other Museums, you won’t have to chase after your child saying, “Don’t touch that!” Instead, touching and playing are encouraged.
There are exhibits for children of all ages to enjoy. Free play areas for the littlest visitors provide stimulation through a variety of textures and shapes. For older kids, the Boston Children’s Museum offers many opportunities to experiment, play, and learn.
Two dining options are available onsite at this Boston Museum, so you can enjoy a quick lunch and then get right back to playing. The Boston Children’s Museum is located right down the street from The Boston Tea Party Ships, so many guests of our Boston Hotel choose to visit both on the same day.
Add a visit to the Boston Children’s Museum to your list of Things to Do during your next stay at The Boston Park Plaza Hotel – A Boston Hotel.
