John F. Kennedy was one of the nation’s most -beloved Presidents. A visit to this Boston Attraction is an opportunity to take a look at his life and his legacy.
About the John F. Kennedy Presidential Museum and Library:
The John F. Kennedy Presidential Museum and Library is a Boston Attraction that pays homage to the 35th President of the United States. Many parts of Kennedy’s fascinating life are documented here, and a visit provides a glimpse into the life of a man whose life was cut tragically short.
When you first enter this Boston Museum, you will have the opportunity to watch two films. The first is an orientation video narrated by Kennedy. The second is a short film that discusses the Cuban Missile Crisis. From there you can explore the Museum which is home to several exhibits.
Each of the Exhibits at this Boston Attraction will focus on one aspect of President Kennedy’s life or work. Some of the exhibits are the Campaign Trail, The Briefing Room, Space Race, Oval Office and The Kennedy Family. When you visit the John F. Kennedy Presidential Museum and Library, you will see thousands of photos, documents and artifacts and help bring this iconic American figure to life.
One of the most interesting artifacts at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Museum and Library is a coconut that Kennedy used to send a rescue message for surviving crewmen of PT-109. Kennedy carved a message into the coconut shell, and that message led to a successful rescue. Kennedy kept the coconut on display on this desk in the Oval Office, and now it can be seen by visitors to this Boston Museum.
The Boston Museum is set on a 10-acre park, and some artifacts are, by necessity, housed outside. Be sure to stop by to get a look at Kennedy’s sailboat, named Victura, which is on display on the grounds of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Museum and Library. The archives at this Boston Attraction house a massive collection including 400,000 images, 7.5 million feet of film and much more.
