Some of the most historical Boston Attractions are located just a short distance away from the city. Such is the case with Little Brewster Island and the country’s oldest continually operated lighthouse.
About Little Brewster Island and Lighthouse:
In 1716, a lighthouse was turned on off the coast of Boston. Over the years, this lighthouse, now known as the Boston Light, helped thousands of ships make their way safely as they passed by. Today, the Boston Light is the oldest continually used lighthouse in the country.
Our Boston Hotel is located near many popular Things to do in Boston including Boston Tours like those available to Little Brewster Island. When you visit Little Brewster Island you will have the chance to learn about the Boston Light, and even go inside where you can walk up 76 stairs to the top.
Little Brewster Island is an active military base, so some parts will be off-limits, but Little Brewster Island and the Boston Light are Boston Attractions that are definitely worth a visit. Just getting there is half the fun. You will board a ferry and during the ride your guide will point out historical sites, including two other lighthouses. While these other lighthouses are beautiful, the highlight of the day will be the Boston Light, which is a National Historic Landmark.
Once on Little Brewster Island, a park ranger will offer a tour of the Island where you can learn about the long history of this Attraction. Guests at our Boston Hotel especially enjoy a visit to this Boston Attraction during the spring and summer when the beautiful weather provides a lovely backdrop to the ferry ride and to time spent on Little Brewster Island.
