About Quincy Marketplace:
Faneuil Hall Marketplace is a Boston Attraction that is steeped in history. Some of the Events that happened here helped to shape the country. Built in 1742, the Marketplace was the place that fisherman, farmers and other merchants sold their goods. It was also one of the spots where those who were most passionate about liberty gave speeches that helped encourage a Revolution.
As the city grew, so did the need for space. In 1826, Quincy Marketplace was added. This Boston Shopping area remained popular during the early part of the 20th century, but then fell into disrepair. Happily, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Marketplace were saved and the revitalization, which began in the 1970’s, has been truly amazing.
Today, this Boston Attraction is a hugely popular tourist destination that is home to nearly 100 retailers, more than a dozen Restaurants and 35 food stalls. While the Shopping is great, Quincy Marketplace is much more than a place to shop.
In addition to Shopping, it is also a vibrant place to enjoy a meal, do some people watching and watch some live entertainment. Over the years, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Marketplace has earned a place as one of the best spots in the country for street performers. As you make your way through the courtyard, you will be treated to acts including musicians, magicians and more.
