Boston Holiday Shopping Guide

It’s that time of year when thoughts turn to gift giving. Boston is known for our fabulous selection of stores and Boston Park Plaza is in the center of it all.

To help with your shopping in Boston, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite places to find that just-right present and discover a part of the city along the way. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the festive season while finding the perfect items for friends and family.

Beacon Hill

Located just across The Common from Boston Park Plaza, Beacon Hill is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Boston. Some of the homes date to the early 1800s, and the area was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1962. Beacon Hill offers a Christmas shopping experience that will transport you back in time. Grab a hot chocolate from one of the cafés in the area and start exploring. The cobblestone streets lined with brownstone buildings add an old-world charm to your gift buying. Charles Street offers a selection of restaurants and independent shops and boutiques waiting to be discovered. The neighborhood is filled with antique stores, making it one of the best places in Boston to hunt for treasures and curios.

Newbury Street

Just a short walk from Boston Park Plaza, this eight-block stretch of cafés, restaurants, galleries and high-end shops invites exploration. Broad sidewalks and distinct buildings make the neighborhood perfect for strolling. From sought-after brands such as Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana to books, gourmet gifts, stationery and home accessories, there is so much to uncover. Enjoy a snack or a meal at one of the many dining options. Newbury Street is a must-visit destination in Boston.

Downtown Crossing

Downtown Crossing is a short walk from Boston Park Plaza. Primarily a pedestrian shopping area, it gets its name from the streets that meet here, Washington Street, Winter and Summer Streets. Historic buildings are home to major department stores such as Macy’s and the bustling neighborhood offers a wealth of shopping options.

The Prudential Center and Copley Center

At over 23 acres, the Prudential Center is one of the largest and most popular malls in Boston. The vast array of stores and specialty shops includes Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora and Under Armor. There are numerous dining options as well that cater to all tastes and cravings. If you are with young children, drop by for a visit to Santa in his Winter Wonderland located within the mall at Belvidere Arcade. Santa is available almost every day throughout December.

Copley Place is linked to the Prudential Center by a glass skybridge walkway. This indoor, multi-story destination is home to some of the world’s most exclusive retailers, including Tiffany & Co, Neiman Marcus and Louis Vuitton. With more than 75 shops and restaurants, it’s a one-stop choice for enjoying a great meal and great shopping.
