Boston Park Plaza has long been a destination for people coming together. From the day we opened our doors in 1927 to today, our location, venues and service have made us a natural place for connection in our city.

Recently, we added to our collection of exceptional Boston hotel meeting spaces with The Square. It captures the vibrancy of the city and the energy that comes when innovative minds share ideas.

“The Square has its own unique feel,” says Chris Shimkus, Director of Catering and Events. Named to evoke the historic squares of Boston, where people naturally congregate, its floor-to-ceiling windows capture the light and the feel of its location in the heart of our city.

The open, expansive interior is as distinct as our property. White painted brick lines one wall. Beams and artwork reflect the vitality of an urban loft. Guests enter on the lobby level, through the pre-function area. Once the event begins, large textured wooden doors close to provide privacy. The Square is designed to inspire guests by their surroundings, making it the newest, and best meeting space Boston offers.

With almost 4,700 square feet, The Square can accommodate a reception of up to 400 people, a banquet for up to 250 people, or theater-style seating for about 340 people. Alternatively, it can be configured into four separate break-out rooms.

The Square welcomes both business and social gatherings. “One of our first events in the new space was, appropriately, with MPI (Meeting Professionals International). However, it’s also quickly become a favorite for social gatherings, holiday parties and weddings, as well,” Chris says.

Chris experiences the impact of in-person meetings every day. “You can see how people thrive off the energy and ideas of others in the room,” he says. When you meet someone new in person, and let the conversation flow, you never know where it will take you – to a new idea, a new opportunity, or a new friendship.

Meeting in person creates memories that cannot be replicated on video calls. And a dedicated space that is as distinct as The Square means people are focused on the event – rather than checking their phones or attending to other distractions that video conferencing brings.
